During this camp orientation is provided to students for Olympiad level of theoretical, experimental and observational tasks. Several theoretical and experimental/observational tests are held during the camp. On the basis of performance in these tests, few students are selected to represent India at the international Olympiads.
In the stage-I of various Olympiads of Indian National Olympiad’s, around 300 students are selected for stage-II. Out of them, total 35 students are selected for the OCSC (Stage III). OCSC consists of practical & theory based exam, 60% weightage is given to theory part & 40% weightage is given to practical part. Out of 35 students, 6 students are selected from OCSC who represent country at International platform.
The Final stage also comprises of two individual theoretical tests followed by a practical test. These tests should be the result of a team effort of all the students involved. The aim of this science competition is to introduce the students, at a young age, to an international network of beta enthusiasts. In addition it promotes and rewards the pursuit of excellence in scientific endeavour and stimulates gifted students to further develop their talents in Natural Sciences.
