The GREEN Olympiad is India's first annual
examination on environmental issues. The examination
is designed innovatively to test the knowledge of
students and also educate and sensitize them in the
process. The only one of its kind in India, the
GREEN Olympiad asks questions arising from issues
such as air and water pollution,
environment-friendly initiatives and practices, land
and water resources, forests, wildlife, oceans,
socio-economic aspects of natural resources, global
climate change, and the roles of society to improve
our environment.
Objectives :
To develop a standard analytical tool that assesses
a student's comprehension of issues related to the
environment, natural resources, and sustainable
development.
To generate awareness on issues of critical
importance today. To inculcate a better
understanding on such issues among the leaders of
tomorrow. To facilitate an atmosphere where
environment-friendly decisions are encouraged urge,
global climate change, and the roles of society to
improve our environment
Eligibility:
The examination is open to students from classes 8
to 10.
What is TERRAQUIZ all about?
TERRAQUIZ is a 13-episode mega-quiz programme based
on topics of daily concern - local as well as
global. The programme is telecasted on Doordarshan's
National network, India's premier TV channel. Each
year, seven teams from each of the four zones and
one team from outside India are selected to
participate in TERRAQUIZ. It is an
interactive quiz and the rounds are designed on the
lines of a game show. Attractive audiovisuals impart
a unique flavour.
