The formation of NCERT's "NTSE Alumni Association"


The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) was established by the Government of India in the year 1961 with a view to bringing about qualitative improvement in school education in the country. The scheme called National Talent Search Scheme (NTSS) was initiated in the year 1963.
 
 
The National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is one of the most prestigious exam in India. The major objective of the examination :

1) To identify the talented students
2) To nurture their talent by providing financial assisstance in the form of monthly scholarship

 

NCERT has decided to create databse of all NTSE Scholars for the formation of NCERT's "NTSE Alumni Association".
  1. For this, NTSE Scholars have to fill up the prescribed format which has been provided by NCERT.
  2. Filled-up format to be mail by the student at ntsexam.ncert@gov.in

NTSE Scholarship is a prestigious scholarship program for students of Class 10 from all over the country. The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) conducts the exam every year and 2000 meritorious students are selected for the NTSE scholarship.

NTSE Scholarships:
Scholarships:- About two thousand scholarships are awarded for different stages of education as follows:

 (a) Scholarship of Rs.1250/- per month for Class-XI to XII.
(b) Scholarship of Rs.2000/- per month for UG and Post-graduates.
(c) Amount of Scholarship for Ph.D. is fixed in accordance with the UGC norms.

NTSE Exam Pattern:
The exam pattern of written exam will be as follows:
Stage-1 & 2: exam at the State/UT level will comprise of two papers i.e.

Qualifying Marks: Qualifying marks for candidates from SC/ST/PH category is 32% in each paper. And for others (General/OBC & EWS) categories it is 40% in each paper.
